Welcome to your child's new Preschool class! My name is Mrs. Sherry Whitton and I will be your child's head
teacher. I reside in Payneway with my husband. We have a son in high schooL a daughter at ASU and three married daughters.
This will be my second year at
Discovery Island, and I have worked with children for several years. I homeschooled three of our children, worked as a Sunday
School teacher and in the AWANA program, and substituted at our local school for years. I am very excited about being your
child's teacher, and getting to know your whole family. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child. Our goal this year is to offer a safe, fun, and happy environment for your
child to learn and grow. The main focus this school year is to help your child develop educational, social, and physical skills.
This year we will use the Sing, Spell, Read, and Write Preschool Curriculum. It is very important that your child arrive by
8:30 every morning for morning circle. This is the time when the students will learn the Pledge of Allegiance, days of the
week, months of the year, and discuss the weather.
We look foward to working with you and your child and to a great year at Discovery Island.
