Welcome!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Nena Doshier and I am so excited to be your child's morning teacher. I live in Jonesboro
with my husband, Wade, and our son Tyler who recently graduated from Nettleton.
I have worked with children for several years including substitute teaching, owning my own in home
daycare, and seven years with Discovery Island. I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2004 -05. I received my Child Development
Associate in 2002 and this year worked toward my Social Emotional Preschool learning Certificate and Pre-K Ella Training.
I love being with children and cannot imagine doing anything else.
We will learn so many wonderful things this school year. We are using the Sing, Spell, Read & Write Preschool
Curriculum. It uses songs, fingerplays and other fun activities to teach all the basic skills needed for Kindergarten. We
are also incorporating a new Social Emotional learning program. This program will help your child learn how to better understand
and express their feelings and improve self-control. Our goal this year is to prepare your child for our Pre-K program. We
are going to have so much fun! You may notice all of the panda bears in our class. This year each class will have a mascot
and our class is known as the little Pandas. We will use these mascots throughout the year for fun activities.
You will receive a Calendar and Newsletter at the beginning of each month.
It is helpful if you will hang these on your
refrigerator or somewhere in your house.
Check
these often to see if there are special events or if something is needed on that day. You will also receive a Daily report
sheet which will have information about your child's day, upcoming events and even notes from me or Ms. McCall. Please be
sure to take this with you each afternoon. We also have a Parent Info Center which will have any information about upcoming
events, notes, Party sign-up list. Please check this weekly. In this packet you will find other important information about
our classroom, goals for the year, pick-up procedures, and more. Please read it carefully and contact me with any questions.
