Welcome to Mrs. Veronica' s Class Hi!
I am Mrs. Veronica Sammons and I would like to welcome you to my class. I am looking foward to a wonderful year of learning and tons of fun. This will be my 5th
year at Discovery Island as a Morning Preschool Teacher. I was named Preschool Teacher of the Year in 2007. I reside in Manila with my husband, Dennis. We have a daughter, April
(25), her husband Blake and our beautiful grandson, Housten who turned one in December. Our son Nate (23) lives
here in Jonesboro. We all enjoy spoiling Housten, but I also enjoy scrapbooking, gardening, and traveling. The curriculum we use is Sing, Spell, Read & Write Preschool Program.
This curriculum uses songs, fingerplays, books, and other teaching tools to teach children the basic skills needed for Kindergarten.
I love to play games with the children and they learn so much. Along with these activities, the children will also enjoy
cooking. I will test your child 3 times this year and send the progress reports home each time. This will help
you see the progress your child is making each time. In
this packet, you will find a schedule for our day. Your child will need to arrive by 9:00 each morning in order to participate
in lesson and circle time. Your child will learn the basic skills needed for Kindergarten during these times. You will also
find in this packet important information about our goals for the year, pick-up policies, supplies, Movie Day, rules, and
more. I am excited about a new year
and consider it a priviledge to teach your child. If at anytime you need to speak with me, please let me know. I want you
to be involved with your child's learning on a daily basis. We are going to have a wonderful time! Thank
