Welcome to my class!!
My name is Teressa
Godinez. I am so happy to be your child's Preschool morning teacher. I live in Jonesboro
with my husband and 3 children. This is my first year at Discovery Island, but I have worked with children
for several years. I really enjoy working here and look forward to building a good relationship with
the children, parents, and co-workers.
I believe that young children need to be loved. I will
hug your child daily and give them a safe, fun, learning environment. I want to start the day with a positive attitude
and a smile! I want to prepare your child for the Pre-K program by teaching colors, shapes, letters and numbers.
I also want to teach them to follow directions. I will help your child develop motor skills and help them improve their
ability to write, cut, and glue. I understand that children learn best through active participation and exploration.
I will offer fun learning activities to help them achieve this.
I know that everyone has a bad day and that
it takes consistency to help guide children. I will use positive reinforcement by complimenting and rewarding good
behavior. I also know that open communication with parents allows us to work together in helping your child learn to
make good choices. I try to always teach my students to love and respect others. I want them to
learn to help others, share, and to use their words instead of actions.
I want you to always feel welcome to join
our class. Please feel free to help with story time, special activities, or give me ideas. I will keep you informed
of upcoming events each month.
